Overstock.com Website Involvement
During my first five-year tenure at Overstock.com (2004-2009), I evolved from a graphic designer creating promotional content into the Lead Front-End Programmer responsible for the website’s overall design, front-end development, and the execution of numerous internal projects.
Highlights of My Role:
- Crafted graphic and promotional elements for the site’s fast-paced online retail environment
- Performed A/B testing on various aspects of the website
- Led front-end development, managing website design and collaborating with diverse teams to deliver engaging user experiences
- Directed the redesign and build of key site areas, including:
- Header and Footer spanning all pages
- Cart, My Account, and Gift Navigator
- Club O membership section
- Various internal applications and admin tools
Comprehensive Impact:
I was deeply involved in shaping every aspect of the website’s front-end, from the most visible touchpoints to behind-the-scenes interfaces. My work spanned the full user journey and covered nearly every interactive component of the platform.
Recognition:
I was honored with an Internal Design & Functionality Award by the company’s CEOs, thanks to my successful redesign of the website’s navigation. This update made the site easier to use and aligned the structure with a modern, clear taxonomy.
Project Gallery:
While my archive of screenshots and assets is limited, below is a sampling of the core features and modules I contributed to over the years – some of the screenshots may be incomplete with missing sections.
